At our center we have monthly newsletters that go out to all the parents, as well as "articles of interest" on a range of topics that we put in cubbies occasionally. We have done articles on biting, sensory integration, getting dirty at school, feeding issues, helping your child to sleep better, behavior modification techniques, etc. We also have monthly parent meetings for parents with concerns/ special issues. If parents come to us needing our advice, we give it. We have tons of resources at our fingertips as preschool teachers, we shouldn't be afraid of using it and sharing our knowledge of the age of children we teach. You can share articles from child magazines that you find of interest, or medical journals touting the latest research... base it on what your parents' need. We also have a parent library at our center for parents can use that contains magazines, handbooks and reference books that the parents can "check out" to read.

Our daycare gives tours of the classrooms, toys, work stations, etc and explains the process of everything--potty, nap, snack, lunch, play time, works time, story time schedules. Be honest and give as much information as you can.
