I'm 15-years-old and I have a strange feeling in my chest. It's kind of hard to describe, but it feels a little heavy and tight. I don't do direct exercise a lot, only sometimes, which will change in January because I will be joining a gym. I'm not in perfect shape, as I do have my flaws, but I'm certainly not obese or very overweight. I'm more naturally curvy than overweight, which is a trait I get from my mother. This feeling in my chest has been going on for a few weeks, and my mother has already made an appointment for me to see my doctor next week. At first I thought that my bras weren't fitting right, so I tried to see how I would feel without my bra, and although it made it feel better, the strange feeling came back sometimes. What do you think is wrong? Serious answers, please, because it's starting to worry me.

As a paramedic, I treat all ages of people who have chest pain/discomfort. Trust me, there are a variety of things that can cause it.

Quite honestly, most people your age who have chest pain are having some sort of panic attacks or hyperventilating. Do you have a lot of stress? Are you usually upset about something when this happens? Do you find yourself breathing too fast? If so, try to relax and slow your breathing.

I know the feeling of thinking your bra is too tight. This happens to me sometimes when I have heartburn, believe it or not. Have you tried an antacid? (Lots and lots of people get cardiac chest pain and heartburn confused.)

Do you have wheezing or a cough with your chest tightness? Could be asthma, especially this time of year.

These are just a few things I thought of. Try not to worry; it'll only make it worse. See your doc as soon as you can and tell him everything. Hope you feel better soon!
