how much people that have/had braces been in so much pain. Because i just got braces on tuesday and ive been in so much pain.If you guys have had the same problem how long were you in pain??

Yes, when I got my braces on I had pain for about 3-4 days, then just intense pressure for about a week that I wasn't used to. It will feel normal, just give it time. When you get your braces tightened, you can expect to feel that same pressure for about a day, but I didn't find it painful necesarily. If it is helpful take some pain reliever for a few days and go for the soft foods for about a week, until you start feeling better. Well lets see braces only hurt because of the pressure they put on them but the pain should go away in no more than 2 weeks maybe even less. But if not u should call your Otho. To help the pain try drinking some medication or pain reliever recommended by your or tho. Well good luck and remember to keep them clean u dnt want to have food stuck on them that's even more uncomfortable

OUch, I know how you feel. I got braces when I was 9 (last year) and it hurt for about 3 days. But I found something that helped ALOT! Go to your local drugstore and purchase a medicine for mouth pain. If you can, get 2, because if 1 doesn't work then you have backup. Oh, and I'm not talking about regular Motrin or Tylonol. I mean something that is made just for people with a sore mouth. Good luck and youll luv ur smile when its all done and over with!

Every time I went to the ortho to get them tightened my mouth was really sore for 2-3 days afterwards. I always tried to eat softer foods, sucked on ice and also took tylenol...... I had them on for 1 yr and I was soooooo happy when I got them taken off.. Good luck!

usually lasts bout 3-4 days. try eating really soft foods or liquid meals and take strong pain killers

i know where u r comin from. IT HURT SOOOO BAD!!!! trust me pain revilers will be your best friend.....it goes away in like a week or 2.
