Are you coming home later? Have they already eaten? Ask them why, sit down and talk to them about it and at the same time ask about their jewelry. Sounds like a communication gap. If you miss them asking you to pick up dinner, tell them. If you wonder why they tuck in their jewelry, ask them. We're not going to have the answer without more info, they are. Good luck.
