I am a freshmen in college, I run track, and Im the editor of my school newspaper and i work for a community newspaper for my other paycheck. i am told im pretty, but i never get anyone to ask me out! I cant understand this phenomenon! Everyone says i will eventually find someone, but ive never been asked out! Help! People like my mom tell me i dont need one, but all my friends say i do. what do you think is the reason no one asks me out, and do i even need one?

This is also the reason I didn't go to my senior prom, because no one asked me out.

No you don't NEED a boyfriend. You seem to have a fairly full and active lifestyle. There is nothing wrong with not having a "significant other" at your age. Fisnish with college get a degree, get into a career, be independent and intellegent and then the MEN (note I didn't say boys) will want to date you.

Hi Hustle Girl,

No one can answer that question for you. I am sure you are pretty, and reason no one asks you out, could be because you show self confidence and self esteem which a lot of people do not have and a lot of guys may feel below you because of your accomplishments.

I believe in destiny and that everything happens for a reason, or does not happen for a reason. I feel that you are destined to meet someone very special and that person is not yet in your life.

As far as you needing one, that is probably something you may feel like you have to do, but maybe now is not a good time. You are a pretty girl and you have a lot going for you.

Just wait till you meet the one you are destined to meet, and you will be glad you did not do something because your friends wanted you to. Your mom has been there and done that and she knows what she is talking about. Not to worry, pretty lady.

Have a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year,

Darryl S.

If you want a boyfriend. Try looking. You're in college and that's the best place, but you have to also be careful not to get distracted from your studies (that always happends to some people). It's ultimately your decision and the potential boyfriend's, not your mom or your friends. You're an adult and hopefully you'll make the most responsible choice for yourself. Good luck.

hello,

wow, i would love to go out with you but I am quite too old. Just kidding.

Dont worry about a boyfriend, it comes when it comes. However go out on dates. Being an achiever, sometimes makes you lead a very busy life. Meet more people who are outside your realm of achievement. People who are not on the tracks nor in the paper.

Try to go out with friends' friends just for the hell of meeting new people and showing them who you are beyond the tracks and the paper.

I hope this helps.

Listen to your mother friends boyfriend's will come and go you don't get a second chance to get a higher education.... boyfriends are headaches in college...especially if they don't go to college....It depends on the message you have on your face. I was told by someone at work I look like I don't want to be bothered which is true sometimes.... but when your focused you look focused....God will send you someone have patience....and never take a friends advise as trugh.. there is envy in the world....

Good job! Sounds like you lead a full life without boys. If you really want to start to explore dating, just make yourself 'available' a little more. Smile at more guys in the hallway or on the street. Make more eye contact. It will happen when you are ready to receive it. You don't have to 'find someone' ... someone will find you.

Hun, apart from what everyone else says, you really don't need a man to complete you. I know you see everyone else out with their boyfriends, and this makes you upset, but trust me, it will happen on its own. theres no need to rush these things, because finding true love takes a little bit. But until you find a true love, chill out. Because despite all the bad stuff in this world, whats meant to be WILL find a way, no matter what.

So relax, and wait for them to come to you, because it will happen.

<3 and I hope you find him <3

HAHAHA i just asked a Q like this.
Its wether you feel that you are ready to have one!!! You have to search your self and find out what kind of guy you like and then you can open urself to being asked on a date. If you feel that you dont need one yet then dont! If so get one. But Hun you are living your Life not your friend nor your mother!!!

Everybody needs somebody because when all your girl friends are spending quality time with their bfs and you want to hang out you are going to feel very lonely. You may seem intimidating to guys, your 18 and in college.

This may sound kinda weird to you but this is the way guys are, try not to sound like you know more than them, you know just kinda keep quiet and praise them when they figure it out, even if you knew the answer act as if its new to you as well.

if theres someone you like right now, then take a chance and go 4 it,
if not then its ok to be single..you do not need a man to make you happy =]
