A driver's license or state ID would be very helpful.

They always care passport more than other valid ids because of security and process in their systems. NO exception......It is a good idea to copy your passport when you travel but you must take original with you otherwise you can not travel else.

Unless you are driving your passport is enough. I have never been asked for any other ID. That is all you need to show at the airport and will be enough for hotels or other places that ask for ID. Have a great trip!

You might need a visitors visa from the consulate of the country you are going to visit. For some countries you can get the proper documents on the airplane. Of course a drivers license with your picture might be helpful.

Your driver's licence, birth certificate, Federal tax Id (in the US), social insurance number (in Canada), and other things like credit cards.

All you need is a passport, that is enough to prove who you are, that's why they exist in the first place.

If you live in Canada, bring you SIN card and your Medicare Card. Otherwise, for all other locations, (just in case) maybe, hmm... Bring a copy of your birth certificate?.

For travel purpose, passport is enough as your identification.

Nothing. I also keep a photocopy of my passport with me (in a pocket of my suitcase). I have my drivers license, but just because I keep it with me anyway.
