My dad was a restless sleeper. My mother would call me and my brothers in to show why she has sleep problems. My dad would have his right arm straight up in the air and snore so loud that you couldn't carry on a conversation. It was pretty funny to see. Do you have an extra bedroom that she could sleep in?

Your father's probably experiencing something known as night terrors. The best way to deal with this is to leave on a table lamp at night. Don't be alarmed... but if you're really concerned, do advice him to see a doctor.

He is dreaming of his day,it is the same as sleepwalking or talking in your sleep. His brain is still living out his day. Other than talking to a doctor there is not much he could do, except trying to relax before bed.

I don't know if this applies to your dad, but I'm a fairly restless sleeper too- Unless I am truly exhausted. Then NOTHING wakes me until I'm good and ready to awaken.
