My cat Mia hisses when i try to hold her what do I do?

My cat Mia she is 1/1-2 years old and she grew up just fine my parents can't do anything. Also she scratches me!?

Some cats don't like to be held, and it sounds like Mia's one of them. Don't force the issue. She may decide later on that she likes laps after all: My oldest one did.

As for the scratching: She might be just playing. But if she gets too rough, tell her 'No!". That works as well for a cat as it does for a dog, believe it or not.

All cats are different. Some like being held, others don't. If she lets your parents hold her but not you, it could be she doesn't like your scent (perfume, etc.). The best thing to do with a cat is ignore it. Then the cat won't leave you alone; it will climb all over you. But most of them are funny about being forcibly held or restrained.

My cat's name Mia too! She is 3 & 1/2 and she loves to be held. I have a neighbor who's cat Misty doesn't like to be held. I've had cats all og my life and I've always had affectonate cats. Lucky I guess.

No matter how well taken care of, a cat is while growing up, some just feel insecure when held, and therefore will voice that opinion. Don't pick her up, there's no real reason to do so, anyways.
