Thae Apaches mystriously appear within 2 miles of pearl as the Japanese attack at a postion and altitude that most rerasonably favors the apaches in the beggining .

This a force addition not a foce substitution

There radios cannot talk to pearl harbor but can talk to other apache units

The AH-64A/D Apache Attack Helicopters have no rockets and no missels They have as four 7.62 mini guns and all the ammo they can reasonably carry in addtion to there tribarrel 20 mm chain gun ..

Can the Apaches last long enough so that the forces at pearl harbor can scramble there forces into the air .

As long as they had their Avionics and the guns they would have basically have decimated the entire IJN strike force and gotten a lot of *** whipping of their own. The Zero fighters would have eventually killed them by sheer numbers. But the Vals and Kates would have been pretty well sitting ducks in the mean time. None of the IJN aircraft would have stood up to even a .5 second burst from a chain gun. On second thought if commanded right they could have basically prevented the entire attack. With almost all lost in the process, but this is a stupid question. Why compare two different levels of technology and wars sixty years apart?

In the first place we didn't have any more that a hand full fighters at Pearl and they were no match for the Zero's. P-40's Also our pilots were inexperienced and would have been creamed by the Japs. An investigation about the attack on Pearl Harbor stated that it is a good thing more planes didn't get up or they would just have been shot down and hence more casualty's.

If there was one modern war machine of any kind at Pearl Harbor the Japanese would have turned and ran.

A couple guys with a box of today's surface to air missiles could have wiped out their entire air force.

Of course today we'd pick them up on our weather radar and our 1940's fleet could have defended itself.

That was alot of enemies for that amount of choppers, i think they would of held them off for a little bit longer for US troops if the Japs engaged them but you gota remember nobody seen a chopper at that time so that might be a great fear factor.
