Statistics show that they are wrong: If our existence is improbable so much so that a supreme being had to create us, then I say that the creation of a supreme being is that much more improbable.

So what would be the worst that would happen? We are asked this a great deal, as Jehovah's Witnesses..; "what if you're wrong?" and I always say this: For now, we'd have a world full of folks who try their best to be their best, who are law abiding, honest, hard-working, tax-paying, individuals who do not engage in politics, military, or worldly entertainment or vices, and in the future, who knows? If we were wrong, well, YOU won't be held responsible! So, I ask again... how bad could it be if believers ARE wrong?

A lot of answers have already said this, but the real question is: What if we are right? Hey, if we are wrong, no big deal, we will just rot in our graves and our existence will be forgotten, so life doesn't even matter really. But, if we ARE right, then that's a different story.
The existence of God shouldn't even be a debate - there are so many holes in the evolution theory, and in essence, it is its own religion! Its because of humanity's pride, that so many people can't accept the idea that there is a God who is capable of things that they are not - that he can control circumstances, and that he is sovereign; that is, he can make decisions without consulting with us if they are "ok". If God did what we expect him to do, or what we want, would that make him God? Just some thoughts.

If believers are wrong a lot of blood has been shed in this world for absolutely nothing. Still, any logical human being knows this is the case already.
Conversely, if they are right, having studied the bible and had the experience of chatting to a LOT of christians about a LOT of issues, most of them will be burning in hell alongside us evil atheists anyway.

those who say the haven't lost anything are wrong, they wasted away every Sunday in a church, you didn't get to go out and actually live because there to afraid to sin... so I guess the answer to your question is that if there wrong they lose their whole lives, and also those who so that non-believers have something to lose are wrong too we live everyday to its fullest and things we feel like doing we do with no regrets... its the only way to live.

What if...ok let's play.
If there are NO right religions. I have lived a meek and harmless life. I strived to live in harmony with my fellow man and did many great acts of kindness. All who knew me will remember me fondly and some what comically. My children and wife will have never lacked for love and attention and I will consider that much better than those who achieved greatness at the end of a sword or other means.
If another religion is right I am most likely in deep doodoo! But, many other religions have a get out of hell card like purgatory etc.. so I am not sure.
Now...ask yourself...what if we are right?

Well, if they can wrap their minds around what the holy being is trying to say, then they will go mad. So, what is the use talking about if they are wrong or right. I always picture it like "Indian Jones and Raiders of the Lost Ark," where the Nazi's faces always melt off completely.

Then I'd have to accept the fact that I was wrong, man up (or woman up); it would be a little hard to swallow (just like me leaving Christianity) but would I regret it, no
And assuming that you are a non-believer, what if you are wrong?

Believers are already wrong. But the mullahs and evangelists are right to fool this many people believing in their faiths and extracting their monies.

"Believers" is a broad term. For example, I believe in the existence of higher powers, but I am definitely not dogma-bound. Those who are dogma-bound (fundamentalists) have indeed lost something: their lives. They've lived without full vitality.
Avoid Pascal's wager...

If all believers of all religions are wrong then that would crush their hopes their dreams their lives. They maybe even commit suicide. It's best that all believers of all religion are correct.
I am being sincere with my opinion this is in no way a mean or cruel thing to say but some people are actually effected by this.
