they've been open in my fridge for maybe 9 months. they look and smell fine.

i just made a dirty martini, tossed a bunch in, now i'm debating it.

Taste one or two. If they're gross toss 'em. If not, cut them up with some cheddar cheese and put it on your tuna fish sandwich (delicious if you like tuna). Or invite your friends over and make a lot of martinis.

Hey, they are pickled. And they've been in your 'fridge, right? If they don't have any fuzzy stuff growing on them, I'd go for it!

the fact of the matter is that they are cured and stored in brine, which is itself a preservative, so they should be fine.

Those things are preserved by being brined in vinegar. They are probably fine.
