I just lost a cat and he was a big part of our family. He had kidney failure and had to have him euthanized. Hard blow to all of us! Tell me what you think and why. Thank you! God bless you!

Only God really knows for sure , but He did leave us some evidence of all living things having souls . Animals do not have a " sin nature " , so I think they will be in heaven not because they have to be saved to get in , but because it is stated in this passage that they have a soul , and a soul does not die . Job 12 - 9 : 10 Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the Lord hath wrought this ? In whose hand is " the soul of every living thing ", and the breath of all mankind .

I am sorry for your loss. It is never easy to lose anyone or anything that is close to you. I believe you did right by your pet and I hope you will find comfort in the memories you have of him. I have a hard enough time wondering what our relationships will be like in heaven. Wife, parents etc... So I cannot say if they will be there or not. But, I lean towards animals in heaven. God made them after all and he said they were good.

While it may sound cruel I also believe that one way or the other you will not care as you will be in the presence of the Living God and all your tears will be washed away.

While I do not want to start a war on Baptism. Remember that the thief on the cross did not receive baptism and he was assured a place in the kingdom. While Baptism is important it is not a saving point of grace. John 3:16 says it best and I know other similar verses.

no longer all Christians have self belief animals don't have everywhere in heaven. Latter Day Saints have self belief animals have spirits, only no longer a similar type that human beings do. i look ahead to spending eternity with a number of my little hairy friends, even with the truth that I actually have 2d innovations about the position i'm hoping my hampster finally ends up, for the reason that he bit my finger sparkling by using to the bone. ok, i wager I more desirable ideal forgive him. He would have incorrect me for a chew toy.

St. Francis of Assisi certainly did. In my church (Episcopalian) We have a day set aside each fall to bless the animals as St. Francis did. Yes they go to church with us! This is done in the church around the country.

If heaven is that which brings us great joy as the reward for a good life (and doesn't that seem reasonable that heaven is sort of tailormade to each of us!) then if he gave you joy and happiness, I beleive that you'll find him there.

And tho' i'm Christian I don't think that heavenly joy is exclusive to us. God indicates in Both Old and New Testamants that he has sheep of many folds.
And Jesus teaches us the "in my Father's house there are many mansions"... and we know mansions have many doors.

Rejoice that you will see your friend there!

Isn't that Great!

I'm not necessarily a christian, but i do believe that animals should have a place in heaven. They experience love, sadness, etc. so I think they have a soul, therefore should go to heaven. I wouldn't worry about your cat though. Even if he doesn't go to heaven, he is put out of his pain.

Normally, animals only have mortal souls. When they die, that's it. BUT. When an animal enters into a relationship with a Human, the game changes. Humans that have relationship with God may in turn ask that particular animals be brought with them. So if you so desire, you CAN have your cat back. And as a bonus, you'll be able to communicate with it like never before.
God is merciful and loving.

The book of Isaiah tells us there will be animals in the New Earth. "The lion will lie down with the lamb, the wolf and the kid will feed, the lion will eat grass like an ox", etc. I see no reason why there wouldn't be pets or other animals in Heaven.

First of all, there are two kinds of souls: immortal and mortal; the soul is also the key to life, i.e., all living beings have a soul. Humans possess the immortal soul, ergo, man has the capacity to enter heaven. However, animal and plants have a mortal soul, that is, when they die, their soul dies with them. Therefore, your cat, and all animals and plants for that matter, have no place in heaven or hell or purgatory.

It would be nice, but the animals all go back to the dust of the earth where they came from. They would have to be human to go to heaven... But who knows the mind of God,, he may want some in heaven. God bless you too.

Why not? If you were God, wouldn't you allow that?

In the book "Embraced by the Light" by Betty J. Eadie, she recounts a time when she "died" and was taken to this very dark tunnel which led to a being of light. While there, she heard human as well as animal sounds, so I guess animals figure in the afterlife just as much as we do. Hope this helps. Peace.
