I am not embarrased.

Now if she was your girlfriend, that would be embarrasing.

No it's not embarrassing, people should be thankful for you that you have someone in your life that is willing to help you. Most all people that are homeless are people that don't have a safety net. I would rather see a man or woman still living with there parents than being in a relationship out of convenience.

There is nothing wrong with living with your mother at thirty as long as you are not there for a free ride through life. It totally depends on your circumstance and hers. If you are paying your way, taking care of your mom because she has a physical handicap or it is like you are renting a room from her and doing everything that you would do if you were living in an apartment separate from her, and eating meals with her to keep her company I see nothing wrong with that. I was taught that we need to honor our father and our mother that our days may be long on the earth. So as long as it is done for the right reasons there is nothing wrong with living with MOM at 30.

Nope. I was laid off from a job and moved back in with my parents when I was 27. I lived with them for a couple years until I found a new job and was stable enough to be on my own again. It was a little awkward, but I really bonded with them too. It wasn't like it was when I was growing up, my parents were a lot more fun. Under some circumstances, it can be a good thing.

Well, then we both should be embarrassed. Actually, my Mom and I are more roommates, where we pool our money and split the bills. It's too expensive where we live for me to have my own place, and I refuse to relive the bad experience of a psycho roommate. With any luck, I'll get married or find that stellar job making $100K a year, and have my own place again!

Only if you let it be, and some girls might not like it...you can always use the excuse that you are there to help her out because she needs help. I have a friend who is nearly 40, bougyut his own home 5 years ago, and never moved into it...still lives at home, but his mom and dad are older and sickly, and he loves them. He just uses his house for 'hot dates', which isn't very often.

Lots of pepole do ot nowadays and its a good way to save money

It depends on the situation.

Are you living there to care for her or can you not support yourself financially? If it's the former, it's understandable. But if you feel you cannot support yourself for some reason or feel too attached to mommy, perhaps you have issues that need to be dealt with.

And it's kind of hard for the opposite sex to take you seriously when it comes to dating. Who wants to date someone who's still living with mommy?

It seems that more and more "older children" are living with their parents these days, primarily due to economic reasons. It's not a big deal in other cultures. I suppose it depends on the reasons you are living with your mother and how you and she feel about it.

Well depends on why you are living with your mother... if its for personal reasons such as...taking care of her and she needs someone to be there.. no. BUT, if you are living there b/c you can't financially support yourself on your own.. at 30, i would say not really embarassing but more pathetic....only because you should be able to support yourself.... :)

I'd be embarrassed! A person is an adult when he/she reaches 21. Give your MOM a break! On balance: If she needs your help on a daily basis, stick around!

No it is not embarassing. Actually it is financially a smart move to make. I mean it is better (economically) for a family to live together rather than having to pay TWICE for the same thing.
