It's mechanism of action is to decrease excitation of the nervous system...it does not repair it. By decreasing the excitability of the nerves, you decrease pain. This is also why one gets side effects such as drowsiness.

Masks pain symptoms and helps with other things too, I think. But...it cannot repair anything.

To the best of my knowledge, they don't know why this drug works on nerve pain. It was originally marketed as a seizure med.

Hi,I`ve been on it for a couple years.It helps with the pain of neuropathy.Take a couple,relax,and enjoy.
