You're exactly right, Rose. We all proclaim love as our basis then why all the mudslinging? I respect others of different faiths. I commanded to walk in love.
His banner over us is L O V E.
If we would each follow this one MOST important command the world would change and be a better place.
Be blessed.
Good post.

Can't figure out why everyone argues about religion anyway. And yea, if we could get over reasons to hate each other that make no sense at all, it'd do a HUGE difference in the world. So many wars are fought over religion.

Religion expects you to love and forgive. And that's a noble thought. But it has to start with respect. That's what people lack more than anything. And it's what is needed the most. Religious, Agnostic, Atheist, should be beside the point, when it comes to respect. But it just doesn't work that way. Does it? If you even pretend to challenge someones beliefs, they tend to go ballistic .

You are right in what you are saying and I agree there should be more love in this world. The problem you will face though is it is a human tendency to be narrow minded and opinionated. Mix this with some passion and pride and you have nitro mixed with glycerin. Mix two of these people together and you have the fuse to start the explosion ;)

yeah its pretty much impossible. the reason is cuz people can't just let other people believe what they want to and respect them for that. they all think their religion is the correct way and everyone else is wrong. therefore they fight to try and get their point across and to prove others wrong. People blame religion for starting wars, its not the religion thats bad, its the people within the different religions that drag it down
i agree 100% with u

The love of God is the only thing that will make a difference in this world. As for me, I respect people no matter who they are. I share with them the good news of Jesus Christ and pray for them. But it is ultimately up to them to make the decision to trust Jesus.

I honestly don't know why people feel the need to push their religion on others...and to respond with such anger if they even believe something slightly different.
Most people simply do not practice what they preach.

I show respect to those who show it themselves. Arguing and name calling doesn't do anything, but that's just the way it is on the net. Just have to be picky about what you read or reply to.

"True christians" in the US have combined to disenfranchise the gay population in our country. Do you honestly think gays should respect christians in return?
"True christians" in the US have tried to have their religion and prayers taught in public schools. Do you honestly think atheists should respect christians in return?
There's quite a long list. As long as christians seek to run the lives of others, no, I don't think their beliefs deserve respect.
