How to approach a girl that I am interested in?

Ok this is the situation there is a girl at my school (highschool) that I am interested in. I 've known her for 2 years I always thought she was pretty but never talked to her I never thought she was interested in me. Then this year she started checking me out lol I was like wow. I know she interested by the way she looks at me when i pass by her and stuff. The only problem is now I dont know how to approach I'm a shy person so that doesnt help. I dont want to sound weird and just go up to and say I like you. I wrote her a letter stating my feelings put it in her locker and signed it secret admirer. Now what do i do next? How do I reveal myself to her without lookin stupid. I dont have any classes with her and only see her a couple times so no real opportunity to talk to her.

When you pass by her in the halls or something (one of those you don't get a chance to talk) slip a note into her hand asking her to join you for coffee after school. Or invite her to a get together over the break with some friends. By starting out slowly you'll let her know that you are interested in her.

You could, if you were feeling really adventurous (and don't mind waiting) stand beside her locker with a rose on Valentine's day and say "Happy Valentines from your secret admirer."
Or if you don't want to wait, buy a small gift (less than$20 that she'll like (if you've known her for 2 years you should ahve some idea)) and put it in a cute bag and stand by her locker after school before the Winter break and give her the bag and say "Merry Christmas (or whatever) from you Secret admirer."
You could even include misletoe if you were feeling particularly couragous! ^_-

How old are you? If you haven't been dating for 5 years I'm going to assume at least that you aren't a teen. I've been married for 25 years so I'm not the one to give great dating advice. I can say however that when I did, going to bars and other pick up places was a waste of time. Like a bunch of lonely, dysfunctional people being lonely and dysfunctional together. And then there's always the horn dogs, and you know why they are there! I met my wife when I was just going about the business of life. I think when people get to know each other under real life circumstances, they are better able to asses one another realistically.

Well, this is a difficult situation. You may approach her coincidently and ask her some natural questions. So the next time, you will be able to smile and start conversation. This is the first step. Afterwhich it would be easier to approach her. Try saying it to her personally and then pass her the letter.

Listen dude. I been there. If you don't talk to her you will never know. You being nervous she will think is cute. Go up to her and just start it off with, "hi." Trust me man. She will say hello and smile and you be smiling too! Say something like (in your own words not mine) "I was just wanting to say hello and thought maybe we could talk or something?" ( lol ) thats cute , well i think you should have a couple of friends with you , be cool , go up to her , start a conversation , see if she likes you --- if you know that she does , tell her , but if u see that she dont then dont tell her , play it cool and walk it off *

you can have a boquet of roses delevered to her house with a note on it for her in it. (but wait, that would probably cost alot of money....... oh well)
