I am half Irish and half Italian.Despite the tendency to be high strung and quick tempered,I am very proud of the fact that my ancestors came to America with nothing and worked long and hard to make a life for themselves and their families.I have many success stories in my family. There are also many sad stories and stories of failure as in any family. My ancestors endured prejudice and ridicule as well.Irish people were not very well regarded nor were Italians when they began to come here over 100 years ago. They were given crappy jobs and paid below average wages yet they perservered and made it.Back then there were no such things as government programs to help immigrants like there are today.I am not saying that there are not alot of very hard working immigrants here in America right now.I have met alot, many of them Somalians, who like my Irish and Italian ancestors are constantly crapped on.But at the risk of making this political,I am saying that certain people need to stop making excuses for themselves and go to work and make something of themselves and stop letting the rest of us support them!!!!

Well my heritage is difficult to discern due to family members not passing that information along. I know I am a quarter Irish but that is about it. Plus my family has been in the US so long that I don't know anything about my heritage. It is a shame because I would like to know more.

I'm Irish and Italian, so I find myself interested in all things Irish and Italian. I haven't found anything I dislike; I think there must be something to be proud of in every person's heritage.

My dad was adopted, so half of me is totally unknown (by me). I have always wondered and will never know. One thing, it stops me from making fun of any heritage, because i could be anything, lol.

my dad is full german and my mom is a mix of British, scottish, and Irish.....so I can wear some of those shirts/other things that say "kiss me I'm Irish" ;)
I also like that I can do any of those accents (I havent really practiced a german one but I have been told I am good at it)
