Without exception humans in their deep desire have the inclination to act or to be god. However, when there is evidence (from the word of God) that humans were called gods yet there are denials and all kind of interpretation to play down this term. Even in Christianity it is very clear in the evangelistic message that whoever believes in the name of Jesus and confess He is the Son of God, he shall have the right to be a child of God. So tell me what is a child of God. Don't you call him god or monkey? But sad to say the term they refer to Jesus' followers remains as children of God. Even when the reference is to sons or daughters of God they are known as such. Can't they be called just gods? Why be shy. Call believers as gods. Now this is the problem. Godliness derives from the word god. So to be god, a person must be godly. Can he achieve the standard? If he can, we congratulate him. If he cannot, then who should he turn to for help. Certainly it is the one that gives him that right.

You could never truthfully call a drop of water the ocean even though it contains the same components as the ocean. It is merely a drop of water, from the ocean, of the ocean, yet not the whole ocean.

Yes, in the bible people are at times called gods or lords. Jesus himself in the bible called "Christians" by different 'names'. Such as children of God, bride, body of Christ, holy people, peculiar people, son's of God, sons and daughters, brother sister and mother (Luke 8:21), and many more. Likewise, there are many names used in the bible referring to Jesus. So I guess any of those can be used in reference to a true Christian.

Am I frightened that god will get angry with me for the capital G and punish me?
Or do I not know for myself that the omnipresent god also dwells in the kingdom of heaven which is within me. When I repeat like a parrot without knowing that god is in me I don't want to deceive myself. Only when I REALIZE the TRUTH can I be confident enough to accept that I too am God. But then do I care whether I am called God or dog or anything else - because I KNOW what I am.

Church dogma contradicts that whole line of reasoning and that is what keeps people in fear of even recognizing their own God granted heritage

To add a bit to this, I always found it interesting that one of Jesus' titles is King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Wouldn't that make anyone who claimed him as their king or lord one themselves?
