Your brain and your mouth aren't working well together. There are actually CD's you can buy to practice speaking. Yes, it sounds dumb, but it helps the two organs work together. You could probabyl just practice at home. It happens. You mouth just doesn't do what it needs to when it needs to. That's all.

THAT is a question that has been under study for centuries.
Sometimes it is a physical problem and sometimes it is a mental problem.
Every heard of Mel Tillis? He is a country singer that stutters. He can sing without the first indication of stuttering. Why? It looks like singing gives the mind more time to choose and develop the words before they come out. Maybe you should try a slower style of speaking. Try singing and see if you stutter. Might not.
Experiments have been done where earphones are put on a "stutters" ears and feedback, of him talking, is sent back to him thru the earphones. This stopped the stuttering.
Read books on stuttering and ways to prevent it and then practice, practice, practice on speaking without stuttering.
Speak in front of a mirror and see if that helps.
KNOW what you are going to say, feel comfortable with it and "spit it out".
Remember, most people stutter at times. Look at the politicians.....and even President Bush.......geez.....look at all the ummmmms they throw in. They also get hung up on words like and and and and or to to to to to and a lot more. They are delaying trying to get the right word formed in their mind before speaking. GOOD LUCK!!!! Pops

You're uncomfortable around the people you are with. I got rid of my stuttering by reading out loud and going to social places.
