Can you cook? Have a nice dinner at home by candle light, put on some soft music. You can't put a price tag on romance! Buy a nice card, write something nice inside, and present it with a box of chocolates. Sometimes a single rose is far more romantic than a dozen. Place the rose across her plate before dinner starts. There is a tale about a gift given. It was a golden wrapped box of hugs and kisses. Due to your unemployment you should consider making her a nice present. Something like a personal gift certificate.
Also, you may need to find gainful employment. Good luck on that as it can be difficult to do so.

There are none!! What...are you kidding? There are nine days left till Christmas...go do day labor if you need to in order to make some extra cash if you can.. Get her something, even its something small. Remember it comes from your heart...and thats huge! Especially when everyone wants to know what you did for her. Otherwise the only other "alternative" I see for you...is to move out before she kicks you out!! Merry Christmas...(or a lonely New Year?).... Edit- Hey I hope you come back and read this...I changed my mind. I know what you can do. Write her a song and sing it to her!! That would be so cool. Good luck.

A nice home-made dinner for two with candlelight would definitely melt her heart. If you don't cook, you can still buy some food and make them look home-made.
You can also buy her some flowers and chocolate. There's no girl that doesn't like flowers and chocolates.

Well, you could ask a friend if you can borrow their computer and printer and make a book of coupons. For instance, you can have a coupon for a foot massage or a coupon for a romantic evening at home with you and her watching movies and eating popcorn...stuff like that girls like...especially if you put some thought into it.

Be honest. Celebrate Christmas another week (when you have money).
Cook dinner, be romantic. Cut out pictures of things you would like to get her, and then tell her one day...if she really loves you, it won't matter what day it is.
My husband and I had Christmas' like yours. But it only strengthens the relationship. I know you feel bad, but you shouldn't...think of it as a test of love...

Me being a woman.. If you have enough to get some dollar store candles... make it all pretty at your place or hers and make her dinner... if you cant cook just watch a few movies in candle light.. one thing may lead to another and you never know...

Sell plasma, collect tin cans and whatever else you can do to get her a small gift, plus make cute little "coupon" cards for backrubs, candlelit dinners, cuddles, etc.

make dinner for her, like her fav dish (that b a huge suprise since your a guy) and buy her a card saying how much u love her, explain to her that u would of wanted to do more (give her more) but that ur in economic crisis. if she loves you she'll understand.
