What do you those of other beliefs frequently think or say about your belief that is wrong? And, please, no petty "Jesus loves them, even if they don't know it" or "God is fake, get over it" jabs, please.

Seriously, if you could nail down just one misconception about your beliefs and correct it, what would it be?

Mine is that Atheists are no more immoral, evil, or arrogant than the people of any other belief.

A lot of people think that I worship statues or the Virgin Mary. I don't (I am Catholic.)

People seem to only hear about other systems of belief from others in their own system. You see it in every camp - evangelicals who only know about Jews from evangelical interpretations of the Old Testament, even though there are Jews around today they could learn from; Muslims who only learn about Christianity from Muslim apologetic sites that target Christianity; atheists whose only real knowledge of faith comes from the exaggerated caricatures of Dawkins' books; and Westerners who only know of Islam what they read on Daniel Pipes' anti-Islam site....

I'm a Wiccan.

People think we worship Satan and do sacrifices and call down demons and so on, ridiculous ideas that thankfully are going away.

People think we are anti-Christian as a rule. That's a complete lie; in fact, I taught in a Catholic school and loved every minute.

People think WE think our religion is ancient. Wicca is not ancient; everyone knows that. But the core of its beliefs are ancient - that's not even up for debate.

People think we worship only the Goddess, and that we have no room for a masculine concept of deity. Not true.

People think we all work in covens. False. Most work alone.

People think I expect to wave my wand and win the lottery, and that spells are like in that movie "The Craft." Wrong.

People think we're all either feminist hippies, gay/lesbian, or both. Nope.

People think we never support war, which is interesting given the 5,000+ Pagans in active military service right now.

People, especially many Christians, think we are "decieved by Satan." What a cop-out. Someone disagrees with your religious beliefs so you just chalk it up to some evil deity's deceptions? Do they realize how silly that sounds?

I would also like to add that some Pagans are atheists, some monotheistic, some pantheistic, and some polytheistic. And many Witches do not cast spells. And "Witch" and "Wiccan" aren't always the same thing; you can be one and not the other. And "Witch," "Wiccan," and "Pagan" should be capitalized just as the names of other religions are. And you'd all better get used to us, because we're the fastest growing religion in the U.S.

Sorry... guess that's more than one.

I wonder if the bible was interpreted incorrectly for the benefit of MEN. To keep women submissive, it worked ~~~ til now!
I wonder if there is a mother God.
I wonder if people are really born gay, or if everyone's a li'l gay, and if they ARE born that way, than why would God commit them to condemnation?
I wonder if atheists are really atheists, I read somewhere that when atheists are on a lie detector test, and asked if they believe in God, & they say no, it indicates they are lying! Symbolizing their very soul knows where it comes from even if our conscious selves don't.
Oh, sorry, I just noticed it says one. I can't nail one. I think a lot of things about a lot of religions are misrepresented & incorrect.

Well, we will know when we die.:o[]

It is hardest being a Christian. Everyone is so accepting of every other religion and belief except Christianity.

A lot of people say that Christians are hypocrits, because we're meant to be so holy and blameless and God-like. The truth is "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." God offers us forgiveness, and sent his Son through grace so that we can fellowship with him.

Many people constantly think I run around killing babies, drinking blood, murdering small, helpless animals, and that I'm somehow worshipping their Devil. That's not the case at all. I actually worship the natural world and myself as a part of that natural world. I'm a really nice person and I could NEVER harm anyone. And I don't believe in their devil.

Well I believe in monotheism, not a specific religion. But I would fix the fact that God could not be a human that was nailed to a cross.

That people in any religion or faith are of the same mold and mindset. Believe me, they aren't! Everything is diverse, and I believe that God's plan because when diversity comes together with mutual respect, it's a wonderful thing.

I am Catholic. That is all I need to say. All of the people that hate this faith is due to 3 reasons: 1. ignorance 2. improper catechism 3. bad priests and laity.

People assume that since I'm an atheist, I'm not a spiritual person.
