A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. Means what you have is better than not having anything. You don't have the birds in the bush only the one in your hand.

A penny smart and dollar foolish. Means that you are not good at saving or making financial decisions.

Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me. It means that if someone lied, took advantage, etc of you. You should be wiser the next time.
