I am the oldest of three sisters and my middle sister is very self-absorbed. She is constantly being rude to my youngest sister and myself. She calls us fat and ugly all the time. We're really upset and fed up with her and don't know how to handle the situation. She is also rude to our parents. She wouldn't even chip in $5 for our parents Christmas present. She has tons of money but wouldn't even consider spending it on anyone but herself. My parents don't say anything to her either. My youngest sister and I are extremly fed up and don't know what to do. Please help

Well I would just tell her flat out that she's hurting peoples feelings and that by being that self absorbed and snotty she's going to end up nowhere in life but alone. I'm sure your parents are aware of the situation and just not saying anything to avoid her wraith. You might want to bring it up to them and let them know that the situation is getting unmanagable and that she is hurting peoples feelings and it needs to stop. They aren't raising a good person by letting her act this way. She's going to have a very rough life if she keeps this up and she won't have family to turn to because she will have already driven the wedge too deep.

I think being the middle clild is very hard. You're not the oldest and you're not the baby either. That doesn't excuse her behavior, but I do think she needs to find her own special place in the family. Your parents need to take control of her behavior and not let her continue to be disrespectful to everyone else in the family. Maybe you could try getting close to her and being her role model. I have gone through it with my 3 daughters and my oldest really helped by becoming her friend and now she confides in her older sister. It really helped her attitude alot.

Your sister has a serious self confidence issue it sounds like. Something needs to happen to bring her down out of the clouds.
Try not giving her the reaction you usually do. Smile. Be pleasant. Agree with her. Then ignore her if she doesn't have anything nice to say.
Consider signing the card, "From your loving daughters", forge her name and let your parents know she did chip in. Let her deny it if she wants. Don't give her whatever sick satisfaction she's getting.

Sometimes you really can't do anything because from the sound of it she's already an adult and when it comes to adult there isn't much you can do to change who they are ... I know his sounds a little bs but just give her patience and don't expect much from her cause that will only hurt you and your younger sister more, just ignore her if you have to but when she needs your help always be there to extend a helping hand ... even if in the end she just bites your hand ...

Do the same to her for awhile and if she sais or shows shes fed up with it too then talk to her about how you felt when she did they same thing to you. You could also give her a lot of good gifts and talk to her about that and how good it is to give. yada yada stuff. But don't be too boring in the conversation.

Try talking to her since u r the oldest and if she doesn't listen just try to ignore her in the nicest way and u know what if she doesn't even put in 5.00 dollars for a present that's just plain cruel no offense but your sister sounds reallllly cruel to her family!!

I would tell your parents about how she is acting maybe they can talk to her. OR you and your little sister can just ignore her. Ignore her comments, ignore her period. SHe how she would like that. If she sees that you guys really don't care about what shes saying, she might snap outta it! Just pretend she doesn't exsits she might miss having sisters.

well it sounds like you need to talk to your parents about it.... cause like they are the only ones that can tell her what to do you and your sister cant tell her what to do because you guys arent the parents... but if i were your guys parents i would send her to bootcamp for sure
