First off, it takes about 10 minutes to consume an ounce (about 1 shot). You get a slight sense of lightheadness or dizziness. It happens QUICKLY (within a few seconds) and doesn't last long (20-30 minutes). My experience involved putting about one shot of 80 proof whiskey in my nebulizer and trying it. It is NOT really like being or getting drunk. It's not unpleasant but if you expect a "drunk on" from it don't bother. I tried it once with no apparent bad side affects but decided I'd rather drink my booze.

(I do not advise doing this. Consult a doctor if you intend to do this.)

I imagine that it would burn like hell, first off. Second, I think it might be able to make it into your bloodstream via your lungs, but remember, your lungs are designed for gas, not liquid. It might absorb some parts of the mixture leaving other parts behind.

If you're going to do it, find the purest alcohol you can find (i.e. EverClear [190 proof, not 151. Not available in the states]) and dilute with water. Rum or other liqueurs may leave a residue on the inside of your lungs which will reduce your lung capacity. Remember kids, you can't clean lungs so don't make them messy.

Do not drink EverClear by itself. It is designed to be mixed into other drinks. Drinking EverClear by itself can cause alcohol poisoning even in small amounts (i.e. one shot).

Snort some alcohol up your nose - same effect. You'll gag and choke. What's worse is if it get down into your lungs you'll develop foreign-body pneumonia. Not pleasant.

You'd probably pass out. Breathing straight alcohol is not good. It's not like breathing pot, etc..
