Everyone carries a certain amount of air and other gases in the G.I. tract all the time. On average, this tends to be slightly less than 1 cupful. Yet the body is constantly acquiring air and other gases throughout the day, taking some in through the mouth and producing some on its own. In all, it works out to almost 10 cupfuls of gas in 24 hours, about 9 cupfuls more than we can carry. The body constantly seeks ways to "vent" this excess. So become aware of swallowing lots of air, especially if you become nervous or talk while eating. A person can swallow as much as 5 oz. of air with every swallow, in addition to all the air bubbles in our saliva. Furthermore, you should try to do the following:

Avoid carbonated beverages and those foods that you know from personal experience cause you gas (like all beans).
Eat slowly and chew your food completely before swallowing
Always eat with your mouth closed.
Avoid chewing gum.
Do not drink out of cans or bottles, and do not drink through a straw.
Avoid foods with a high air content such as beer, ice cream, souffles, omelets, and whipped cream.

Beeno or cream of tarter helps with foods. Watch your diet and avoid food that can cause gas. Some people are just flat out gassy and nothing will help.

Well I know that having gas is healthy. I do know that drinking carbonated drinks makes you belch. Stay away from the junk food.
