A desiccant is a substance that draws water from air.

That is what the silica gel packs you find in electrical goods packaging are.

Well..... Desiccant means..... a substance, such as calcium oxide or silica gel, that has a high affinity for water and is used as a drying agent...... which means in that way that it promotes drying, and is used to remove moisture)!!!! Hope that answer your question!

It's something that dries something. Medicines are sometimes packaged with desiccants to prevent moisture in the air from harming them.
