my dog (Angel a Jack Russle age 8) went blind last year and befor that my other dog (Teddy a Peekapoo age 4) would always try to play with angel and sit on her and go crazy and practically attack her(gently though haha) when she came in after going potty.

now that Angel is blind he still annoys her and i dont think he knows she is blind. but when he does this she get confused and bumps into things i feel soo bad but even if i yell at him every time he does this to her he doesnt care...what should i do?

I think that if Teddy isn't hurting Angel, and I doubt if they are, leave them work it out on there own, Make sure Angel has her own space. where she can get away and "hide"

Too Angel may like having Teddy around. like some older people like having younger people around. My grandma liked volunteering with big brother big sister, she said it kept her young. She was 98 when she died. She was blind and in a wheel chair, had several strokes had diabetes. I believe it helped her live as long as it did.

The way to tell if dogs are hurting each other are:

1. is there blood

2. dose Angel have any soar spots on her. go down and pet her allover watch her reaction if she jumps or yelps, runs away or bites you (unless she always dose this when you touch her there)she may have a bruise.

3. dose Angel seem afraid of Teddy

also try putting those things that are made for babies that go on the furniture to pad the corners. and make your house as clutter free as possible pick up any thing could hurt Angel.

awww...i love Jack Russells
anyway...maybe Teddy just wants to play with Angel.
i mean.....Teddy might be used to have angel as his playmate so he always tries to play with her.
if Angel isnt really getting hurt or upset, you should let Teddy continue playing with her.
Having Angel around Teddy will help him with is socialization skills.
Angel should also get used to Teddy because she still has years to go and has to get used to other dogs sometime.
you should also go to your vet and ask if anything can help with Angel's blindness.
You could also just pad sharp places so that when Angel bumps into stuff, she wont get hurt.

<<< Axl (German Shepherd) my purely canines. Loves his famiy. completely macho. likes to play along with his squeeky ball. Loves giving mommy kisses and shaking arms with daddy. continuously on safeguard and alert for everyone or something that ventures onto our property. has under no circumstances bitten everyone yet has a menacing growl whilst he's suspicious of somebody or something. likes to play with and tease my 8 12 months previous cat yet will backpedal as quickly as kitty gets too annoyed. a super type of the time he acts like a super domestic dog sucking up all the attention he can. likes to pass on rides contained in the motor vehicle or truck. likes to "help" with any chores the two outdoors or in. Hates squirrels. Hates going to the vet... yet is incredibly brave whilst the situation arises. no longer overly prepared on baths yet will cooperate.

You should let them enjoy their play time together in a safe place free of things that the dogs can run into. even though one dog is blind I bet she still enjoys the play time.

Take him to puppy classes, or seperate them more until teddy gets more mature and doesnt have to jump on other doggies
