i'm interested in siberian huskies, but i'm still doing research. can anyone recommend to me a good breeder i can talk to, that you've had a good experience with? they don't have to have current litters or anything, i'd just like someone to talk to for now. i'm more interested in serious breeders with show dogs and champions or possibly working dogs please, not hobby breeders.

The only way I know to find someone with the knowledge and experience you want is to call the chairperson of the Siberian Husky Club in your area. They are listed by state on their website,
They will put you in touch with someone close to your home who you can call and go to visit. Explain what you want to the chairperson and ask for help.

That link has breeders recognized by the SHCA (Siberian Husky Club of America). They also have codes next to each breeder, with such things as:
p = Puppies Occasionally
d = Dogs
s = Stud service
i = Information
c = Conformation
r = Racing
o = Obedience
x = Rescue referral help
b = Boarding
h = Handling
w = Working Pack Dog

I have owned quite a few Siberian Husky purebreds but was more on the working side (dog mushing/skijoring) than the show side. I live in Alaska and know of some decent breeders.

Go to http://www.akc.org and follow the link to the national breed club. They should have information on reputable breeders.
