I am a part of that religion, and I bet you do not know. By the way, it is not Christianity or Judaism.

Zorastorianism....The oldest "Prophetic Religion"... Hinduism is considered the worlds oldest religion/culture

I would say Hinduism. The modern pagan religions, even reconstructionist religions, don't count because they're not the same religion.

And I got this from another message board: "The late Chuck Haynes always used to say that Shamanism would have been the oldest religion in the world, if it were (a) a religion and (b) in the world."

p.s. Wicca is 70 - 80 years old at most.

Zorastatarism - I know it has a lot to do with fire and light energies but thats about as far as my knowledge goes it , it is a fairly closed religion from the info I've found on it over the years, Failing that the egyptian deities and there worship dates back at least 5000 years ,as it is a predessor of the regions monothesitic religion which came into existence around 5000years ago , You8 may also follow ancient celtic style beliefs or panthenism, date back substanially past that of other religions

Now you're probably going to say something like Wicca. Actually, no one knows what the oldest religion was, because it existed many thousands of years ago, long before people started keeping written records of what their religions were like. Such early religions may have been similar to a number of modern religions, but none of them actually survive today.

Obviously, the oldest religion would be worship of God!
"In the BEGINNING.....God"
Now, this would be before "recorded history", of course....but I'm sure you did realize that religion has ALWAYS existed, long before there was such a thing as "recorded history".
As someone else pointed out to you, history is written by the actors...so, basically, unless you have some way to look back to the beginning of human worship, you don't know...
Obviously, if you believe in a Creator, the "first religion" would be worship of that Creator.
Obviously, if you have some other faith, or if you are going strictly by written history, you will disagree with me.
I'm pretty sure God knows......

Nature based Paganism. In otherwords Sun Worship. Those religions that worship the sun and the earth were the first known religions and they are still around today.

Zoroastrianism can only be dated back the about 400BCE

Tell me, how do you know that your religion is the oldest religion and that you haven't been lied to all these years because history is written by the victors?

You don't.

The worlds oldest religion is animism. Its existed far longer than any organized religion on earth and probably back into the cave man days.

Well, you could argue that good old fashioned Paganism is the oldest religion in the world. Then again, we don't know what Neanderthals considered religion when they first buried their dead (the first sign of belief in an afterlife).

It has never been about religion. It is about a relationship with the Creator. The relationship with the Creator began at the Creation.
