I know there is a very good photographers in Atlanta named Tyler Bulter (Tylight.com) and he is fantastic. He did my wedding photos years ago and he does commerical and portrait photography as well.

Another great way to build a portfolio is to offer to sit in exchange for print.
Check out Craig's list under creative services use the TFP as a search term [trade for print]
A photographer gets a model and you get a copy for your portfolio. A win win situation

there is always college students who can perform work for you in order to get them a passing grade alot of my friends who got married went with students on different things to some what save finacially and the end results werent so bad you can call the local colleges and ask to speak with a teacher and let them know what you are in need of and 9xs out of 10 he will put his best soon to graduate student up for the challenge a small love token i know would be appreciated from the student you can get more than 1 student gl
