Is it within the US or out of the US?

Out of the US:
If its at 1140, you need to be there around 940-1040, so leave NO LATER THAN 7:30-8am.

within the US:
Leave NO LATER THAN 8-8:30am.

I like to give myself plenty of time to get to the airport due to traffic and how busy the airport might be. I also always bring a book or buy a magazine to keep busy while waiting to get on the plane.

My son is a pilot and he says that this is the busiest time of the year for him. That said, some airports are much busier than others as are the security lines and as are the freeways leading to the airport. Not knowing where you live, you might even have to account for weather which would definitely add more time on to your trip to the airport. I always allow more time than I need because I would rather wait at the airport with a good cup of coffee and the newspaper or a good book than in traffic or the security line. I would leave by 6:40. Good luck and Happy Holidays whatever you decide.

If the flight is 11:40, he should check in 2 hours before the flight. So you must arrive at 9:40 at the airport. You should leave at around not later than 7am...it's better to leave early than to be late in the flight. The plane wouldn't wait for the passenger....

They the passenger is suppose to arrive 1 hour prior to take off i always want to be their a little earlier than that so you know how long it takes to drive to the airport add an extra time to get the passenger there an hour before departure.

around the holidays it's best to get there 2 hours before the flight leaves to make up for security and lines. It's always better to get there early.
