You are possibly in a dry environment with a heater running and a dry, sore throat is a result of low humidity. Get a humidifier or use an open pan of water close to your bed at night. Load up on fluids during the day to loosen the mucous. If your throat is red its is from post nasal drip that's too thick and harboring bacteria. Gargle with warm salt water (1 tbs. to a cup of warm water) and take aspirin with food. Hydration is the key. Even saline spray to your nose will help at night. If you don't take care of the problem and get a dry hacky cough, you could possible have bronchitis which is a direct result of that thick moucous from nasal drip. In that case, see a doctor. Hope you get well soon. Godloveya.

Yes I do. I live with a sore throat during certain times of the year. I take lots of throat lozengnes and you the spray and I drink a lot of water and other liquid. Take vitamins and try not to talk. I hate it. I used to be a bus driver and I could not talk to the kids. when I was having a problem.
