fighting in. My husband has been serving the ADF for 23 years. Although I may not always understand or agree with the politics, we have to realise that sometimes things are going on behind the scenes that we don't necessarily know about. I blame the terribly corrupt and inflaming media for the lack of support in this Country for our Military. The budget is constantly being cut which most people just think of less guns being purchased. Our military budget also supports the thousands of families and service men/women which protect this fine country. Next time you participate in a conversation about the War in Iraq. Think about the true reasons behind it, not the "media" hyped ones. There are weapons of mass destruction out there, America sold them to Saddam, where are they? They are being hidden by supporters of Saddam. We went into Iraq for good reasons, please stop bagging the War against terror and the War in Iraq and think ....

I can tell you one thing for sure, my husband and his mates feel quite insulted to be described as "cattle". How can you insult the men and women you profess to support. It was the Iraqi people who asked us for help, to get rid of a tirant who took over their country unlawfully. Get your facts straight before you insult the ADF.

Thank you.
Sorry to hear that your Media is as bad as ours.
Our own Media has stirred these little commies and America Haters up enough, that they are now helping the enemy.
Our News Media helps the terrorists.
Except for Fox News.
Fox News is Hated because it supports the USA. They dared to wear little American flags on their lapels after 9/11.
They are hated by the Democrats for that.

Our soliders had little choice when Howard sent them packing, so we need to get behind them. Whether it be a 'good' or 'bad' war we need to support them as they fight sometimes to their deaths. Personally I feel that Australia had no place in WW1, we were as we are today helping our alies. But had the women not stood by their men, Australia may not have many of the freedoms we do today. It takes a cold heart to support war, but it takes a warm heart to support the many people giving up their time, loved ones and civil rights to fight an unjust war.

Supporting a war, any war, is a completely different issue to supporting those in the military. It is when the two issues are lumped together that solders get spat on as we did when we returned from Vietnam. So let's not make the same mistake again.

i imagine you're gazing this in an basic basic and the international is a lot extra complicated than you're perceiving it. this isn't meant to insult you yet i choose you to comprehend what i'm preserving (so please forgive me in case you're taking this as an insult when you consider that I disagree with you). i'm a veteran, 8 years; about 24 months of that in warfare time territories (one theater the position we were in an truly skirmish the position guns were actively and purposely discharged). i'm no longer adversarial to warfare yet i'm by assessment warfare. The reasoms for it did not, and nevertheless no longer, make sense to me. there have been a good type of intelligence that advised the administration that there have been no longer WMDs (or were very scarce and in no way about to amplify). all people who's acquainted with at least something about the middle East is acquainted with the version between a Sunni and a Shiite and Al-Quaeda (Sunni) and Saddam (Shiite, no longer even a practising one) were enemies by distinctive feature of those adjustments of their faith. And yet this administration implied various circumstances that there replaced right into a connection. you are able to honestly help the troops and disagree with the Pentagon and the commander-in-chief. it is your good to question the administration and it truly is somewhat American to finish that. wondering our leaders isn't like wondering the troops. we do not question the production unit workers that are layed off in Detroit yet we question the executives. so some distance as demoralizing the troops... nicely, i replaced into in teh provider and that i easily in no way had conversations with different infantrymen about society's concept persons. We were rugged and individual adult males who did not easily care a whit about society's concept. We did the pastime and did not assume recognition and/or parades and tears. for my area, I somewhat have in no way somewhat considered all people no longer help the troops... at the same time at the same time as i replaced into contained in the provider we did not care. Its effective yet no longer mandatory.

I agree we should always support our troops but don't you think Saddam Hussein's troops had the right defend their country after it is theirs not ours we don't have the right to invade another country even if we do need their oil and the budget is not being cut our taxes are being used to fight a war that we have no right being there. If your husband has been in the armed forces he will know what it is like to come back from a war as the defeated as in Vietnam but our leaders treat our armed forces like cattle in for the slaughter why do you think John Howard's son is safely working for George Bush in Washington DC but don't worry if you also have a son he will love to send him to war to fight in his place. Also I will bag the war but never our soldiers it is called freedom of speech.Maybe you should think why the UN was created and who ignored them and are they committing war crimes and how would we like it if our country was invaded.

I keep hearing the US sold WMD's to Iraq. I was in the first Gulf War and I never saw them! All I saw was Russian or Chinese made equipment. Not one American made tank, bomb, or shell!

personally, i give 110% support to anyone who is willing to fight... and possibly kill... to defend their home land. i just don't agree with having to do so. if politicians of warring nations would just sit down, face to face, and discuss their issues, i think a lot might get resolved without tens of thousands of sons, daughters, husbands, wives, brothers, sisters, cousins, etc., etc., having to get killed.
