My cat was sitting on me when he shook his head and cat spit fell on me. What was that about? Is he turning into a dog?

this is usually 1 of 2 things. one is a bad tooth. and the other is a reaction to something. have you used any meds. on him lately? if so, take to the vet. asap!

Some cats drool because they're happy, scared or nauseated - if this is a fairly young cat, this may just be normal.

If this is an older cat, have him checked at the vet to be sure his teeth and gums are healthy. Also have them look for any ulcers or tumors in the mouth or throat, this can cause drooling. So can neurological disorders or toxins. If he is acting normal in all other areas (eating, drinking, urinating and defecating), there may be no need to worry. If there's is any change in ANY way, always have your pet checked by a vet.

Some cats are just natural droolers. It doesn't necessarily mean there's anything wrong, but it would still be a good idea to make sure your cat doesn't have any bad teeth or other problems.

If your cat gets a clean bill of health, and he still drools, then what you've got is a natural-born slobber-puss. Nothing to worry about!

My cat drools too! I asked my vet and he said that it is her way of telling me she loves me. If she is really cozy and purring like crazy and wants to be affectionate I end up being spotted with drool all over! It is kind of gross but really nice as well. It's nice to note that she only drools on me, not my husband or anyone else.

That's beacuse you excited the cat. Were you stroking it? Cats drool when they get relaxed and excited. If its a female, it might go further and "shoot its plug" making a mess you will NOT want to deal with. Be kind to your pet and it will love you forever.

I've had a number of cats who drool when they are loving being patted. It means you've made them really really happy!

It might be an allergy, they also salivate when there's a strong smell (like alcohol or cleaning supplies), or maybe he is just turning into a dog

If he isnt vaccinated against rabies he might have that. Get him checked by a vet now. If he is vaccinated against rabies you may want to take him to the vet because he could be having an allergic reaction to something he ate or he may have eaten something poisinous.
