Do you hear or see the A/C clutch enaging? plugged filter dryer or expansion valve? Take to a pro.

if your a/c is blowing warm air it possibly could be the dash switch which actuates the sensor. i own a 2001 taurus and the a/c system worked part of the time and part of the time it didn't. try switch the a/c switch off and on and see if that will cause it to blow cool air. if so then you need to replace the in dash switch. if not, then the sensor on the condenser probably has a bad o-ring, which is rather easy to replace.

You might have cracks in your lines, older cars lines get brittle and crack. Is your compressor kicking on when you turn the AC on? If not your R-134A is too low and you have to "jump" the compressor. If you need to now how to do that write me back.

sounds like the compressor seize is going undesirable and leaking freon. seem on the below area of the hood good the position the A/C compressor instruments. in case you spot something like grease strips or moisture, that would aspect out a nasty cluth leak.
