There are several ways.

I've seen websites where you find a penpal to learn a language with. For example, if he lives in spain and wants to learn english, you two can converse.

You can also buy a book with a CD-rom attached and learn. There is one called Arriba, which is pretty good.

Watch some Spanish films. I picked up Spanish fast not by learning in thru a book, but by watching Spanish movies.

Cheers!

You can learn plenty off Internet or through printed texts . If I was really eager to learning it I'd start by peeking at the yahoo answers for spanish-speaking countries. If there are words you didin't manage to make out their respective meanings at first you may want to post them as a question. But if you wish to truly make any progress it's going to heavily depend on your willpower.

find a local tutor who would go to your house. start renting spanish videos/dvd from your local shop, and try to get children's story books in spanish (even picture dictionaries) as you can start gaining vocabulary. some CD courses are good, but they require a great deal of will-power and self-discipline on your part to get through them and keep it up. The ideal way is to find someone you can talk to in Spanish and just not allow them to talk to you in English.
