my kitty is 4 months old. He is not eating or drinking for three days and has been vomiting. His food is the same and he never goes outside. Should I call the vet or will he get better in a few days. I have been trying to give him water with a little medicine dropper but I am afraid it is not enough. What should I do?

Aww, the poor baby...I'd call your vet and give them the story, hopefully they can fit your kitten into their schedule. Hope he feels better! :)

I would leave him in a room with the water food and a litter box - and make sure he is peeing. Not eating is usually a sign that they do not feel too good. You of course want to watch him closely - and call the vet very soon. Three days may be too long with out any food, and he will want to check and see if the little guy has de-hydrated himself.

Is he loosing weight?

Is he becoming dehydrated?

If so I would call the vet?

If not try mixing either the real soft canned cat food or the chicken or beef baby food with water and a little bit of milk untill it is a liquid and try giving that to him in the little medicine dropper.

Might have to give tiny little bits at a time.

He needs to go to the vet. If he's not eating or drinking and is vomiting, he may be dehydrated. At the very least he should have fluids and be checked out. He could have a virus/cold, he could be blocked, he could have any number of issues that a vet would be able to best treat.

Take your kitty to the vet N-O-W! Not eating for so long not only means something is wrong, but your cat can also develop other serious liver diseases from not eating.

The fact that it's been three days, should turn on that little lightbulb with the concept of taking your kitten to the vet. Something is wrong.

You need to go to the vet soon, 3 days is a long time to wait already. I know that at my job, we would basically treat it as an emergency. Good luck, I'm sure everything will be fine.

Has he pooped? has he peed today? If not, take him and a sample of his vomit to the vet. Kitties are too little to fight some things on their own. Good Luck

three days is a long time for a small/young kitty, you need to get to the vet. He might just have a huge hairball filling his stomach. Regardless of what might be causing it he needs hydration.

I would take him to the vet ASAP. You could try buying cat milk in the pet aisle to get him eating something. But take him to the vet.

Get that kitten to the vet NOW or you're going to end up burying the poor thing in the backyard.
