epends on the lock type. If it is a Kwikset you can put a small thin screwdriver threw the hole in the middle of the knob and feel for a screw head and turn it. It unlocks the door.
Also you can remove the screws , push the doorknobs through and push back the mechanism you see..
If you have the old bar & knob type you can do the same thing.
You can also remove the doorstop trim and then use a screwdriver to push back the part of the knob that latches into the door frame
Is there an open window you can get into?

It depends on the lock.
If it requires a key, and there is some play beween the door and the frame, try to shove a credit card into the space. (The credit card may not survive the procedure - if successful, you may need to get it replaced) If that does not work, you'l need a locksmith.
If it's a bathroom ("privacy lock") you put a little screwdriver in to the hole in the center and turn unit the screwdriver find the slot. Then turn to unlock.

Those knobs usually have a hole in the end on the non-lock side that let you open it. You just have to get an ice pick or straighten out a clothes hanger. Then you just push it into the hole until you feel a button inside push in. While the button is pused, you can turn the knob and open the door.

were you lock out by your wife or girlfriend, well if thats the case you're going to have 2 make it better, by correcting your behavior or find why . if it's a key matter find locksmith or take door off hinges. But tend 2 think it's the first wife or girlfirend problems. Stop being a Bad BOY. sleep well on the couch until you fix it whatever the case may be.

Inside locks are usually privacy locks...look at the door knob or around the handset, there should be a little hole somewhere. Take a jewelers screw driver and you should be able to put it in the hole to unlock the lock.

You are not going to "pick" a lock more than likely. Take a big flat bar or screwdriver and put it inbetween the door and door jam and pry it apart and open the door.

Call a locksmith. I got locked out of the house once and climbed into my SECOND FLOOR bedroom window. (It was a tall ladder)

some door locks have a little hole below the knob. you can take a coat hanger and stick it in and it will unlock. or else try the window or credit card trick. but that sometimes never works.

if it's a push button lock, you should be able to stick in a bobby pin or something similar and pop it. If it's a turn button lock, you'll need a really small flat head screwdriver (or similar) to turn it.

HEEEE YAWH! kick that door in yo! Or climb through a window. If the door knob has a hole you can use a screwdriver to open the lock, usually a flathead screwdriver.
