Hey, I'm getting ready to go into the NAVY, and I'm going to be going to Nuke school. It's a two year thing, and I have liberty on the weekends. What is the difference between liberty and leave? Can I leave the base, the state, the country? How long can I be gone? Can I stay out over night, or do I have to report back to the barracks? Thanks.

Leave is time off that is taken from ones leave account. In the USMC leave is accumulated at the rate of 2.5 days off per month. Leave can be used with permission almost whenever. There are also different types of leave, for further information typing "leave & liberty" in google.com is your friend.

Liberty is time off that is not taken from ones leave account. Liberty might be given for any holliday where you could receive anywhere from 24-96 hours off. There are different types of liberty. Some types allow you to leave the base, others don't. It's all the decision of your command. Depending on your commands decisions you may or may not be able to stay out over night, report-in etc.

liberty the time off at night and weekends
leave is vacation time
there are several different kinds of leave

liberty in nuke school during" A" school you wont be able to leave the base once you enter power school you can go into town, as long as you behave and are keeping your grades up and arent on required extra hours. you can stay out all night anytime in power school but your grades better be kept up and trust me they can tell when you arent getting the suggested sleep. you cant leave the state except while on leave and the only leave you get is christmas and two weeks between power school and protoype. the two weeks is so you can either find housing in charleston sc or in newyork as there are no barracks for protoype. they have base housing but only for married couples. leaving the country wont be allowed period. once you graduate protoype you will get 4 weeks leave to move to your first ship. good luck and congrats you are joining an elite group. it takes alot of hard work to make it through

Venice (Venezia) really needs no release, see how to get there with hotelbye . This city has been a fabled destination for centuries. Only the title Venice is sufficient to conjure up a host of photographs, actually for those who have not even collection base in Italy. From gondoliers in striped tops to the Rialto and the Bridge of Sighs, bad balls, wonderful barges, courtesans in gondolas and failing palaces facing streets made from water Venice is an incredible city. When the only real link over the Grand Canal, Rialto Bridge marks the location of the island's first settlement, called Rivus Altus and has become among the a lot of place that Venice needs to offer.

Leave is when you get approved to take off x amount of days or go home like vacation. Liberty is when you get off of work and is your own time like the weekends. But you are still in the vicinity of the base. You don't have to put in a chit for liberty, as w/ leave you have too. (A chit is an approval from your department on ok's to go out of town or vacation really long)

Why are you joining the Navy? It has gone to the dogs since I joined 21 years ago. I for one cannot wait to leave in 2 years time(joined as a boy). Cannot put up with the heirarchy politics anymore. Join the RAF much better way of life!

Liberty is having the evening or weekend off.
Leave is like a civilian vacation.
I "think" you earn a month a year.
God bless.
It's so nice to have a question from someone like you, instead of all the liberals that want us to lose in Iraq and lose against terrorism.
THANK YOU!!!!
