Do you think God may say they are finally ready and the rapture come? Just a speculation. You know we all share the one common enemy and that is Hate. Let us turn our back from this monster.

I know this is going to set some of you to being annoyed but that is consternation affecting you. I am going to pray and pray and pray that you all know of this treasure I have in Jesus Christ and that you all know joy. Peace!

We should pray for others, most definatley! I always forget to pray for others in other countries, I use to have a calendar that had prayers on each day for the ministries and people in China- that the Lord would bless them and lead people to Him....we should be praying for our troops too! God wants to hear our prayers- He desires this of us.

1 Peter 3:12
For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil."

Nothing.

Why WOULD anything happen? (And it's not like we'll ever have a world-wide religion that everyone agrees with, anyway...)

The only way I see this affecting ANYTHING is perhaps the consciousness of that world, but even that's questionable. It might cause more attempts to help with poverty, since people would recognise suffering and want to end it. On the other hand, people might blame the suffering on God's will, or they might think that praying should be enough to help and, if it isn't, then the people in question aren't in need of help, since God obviously does not want to grant them aid.

Still, that entire paragraph is completely questionable. The only thing that is true is that nothing of serious consequence (such as the rapture and whatnot) would occur.

I think that that's a lot of time to waste on something.
It would be better if everyone could contribute a dollar a day for famine or helping those in need.

Praying won't help. It's the 'doing' that will change God's mind and have the rapture come. Praying is easy and the feeble minded and disbelieving can all do that.

When everyone is willing to put aside their differences, their opinions, their religions, their beliefs, their ethnocentricities, and their selfishness and pride...then maybe God might bother with us.

That's not going to happen any time soon.
But it's nice that you think praying will help. I think you should continue doing that as it makes you feel closer to your God. That's the main thing and you should feel proud and blessed that you have that connection and belief that many of us these days find ourselves severely lacking.

Well it could move mountains if we all prayed the same thing that all would grow in love for God and find salvation in this life from bitterness and hopelessness. But the thing is some believe praying for others to die would solve problems. Some would be more worried about changing wrong behaviors than people drawing closer to the Lord as they don't realize he meets us where we are.
See what I mean we would need to be as one which won't happen until God unites His children in the end.
I see what you mean though. Like that nickel back song.
If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Would we see the day when nobody died.

I think it would mean a lot of people pausing in their day. Maybe getting centered and relaxed, maybe not. But that the world as we know it will end? Unlikely. You forget that only 1/3 of the population of the world ascribes to the Christian god, so the rest, if praying at all, will be praying to miriad other gods.

The same thing that happens every other day.

Because some of what people would be praying for would be that everyone else converts to their religion - and their own personal IDEA of their religion, too.

Can you imagine being God in that situation? YIKES!

And, dear heart, as much as I'd like to agree that our own common enemy is hate, I think it's actually the boon religious companion of some.

Honestly, I think within a short period of time (say 50 years) we would see an end to war, disease, poverty and hunger because WE would start to have a global consciousness of doing something about these problems. Remember, you said EVERY person. It's a great idea. Atheists -- we don't need you to believe in God to do this. Just spend a minute of each day thinking about how to improve the world. Good things are going to happen.

Same thing that happened the last minute when not everyone prayed.

I'm all for turning my back on Hate. That is a very admirable goal, but praying does not stop it. Prayer has been going on for thousands of years, and hate has not gone away.

The only way to stop Hate is through action, not prayer. While prayer can make someone feel good about his action, it is empty without action. Praying that your child will stop picking on his black classmate will not help. You need to talk with your child about how wrong it is to tease people.

Prayer is a powerful placebo, but it is just that--an empty feel-good temporary solution that has no real impact on the world. I'd rather that every person took a minute a day to comfort a disturbed individual. *That* would make a real difference.

I think that everyone will have wasted a minute that could have been productively used to make money.

Also, there would be a lot of disappionted people, because everyone knows that god does not exist and praying to him is a waste of time.

The key would be that we take that ONE minute a day in UNISON and pray in agreement. The result?

World peace
The end of Starvation
The end of war
The end of poverty
Enviroment would be saved
Jesus would return
Jesus would return..

Be Blessed
