Well guys, ten points go to the first correct answer... but I've read all the responses after 21 hours of the question being in play, and there're no correct answers there... looks like it'll take a bit of research to win this one :) I'd give more hints, but in this googly world they seem a bit redundant...

The song was called "I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)" and it was performed by Meatloaf as the sequal to "Bat Out Of Hell". The song was on the album Bat Out Of Hell II: Back Into Hell.

II remember this from when I was at school... the song is I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That), by Meatloaf. 1993. From Bat Out Of Hell II.

(Rock'n'Roll Dreams Come Through is far better in my opinion, despite the crap lyrics! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sDqF_5pD1CM)

"I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)" reached number one in 28 countries. Meat Loaf won the Grammy Award for Best Rock Vocal Performance, Solo in 1994 for "I'd Do Anything for Love".This song also stayed at #1 in the UK charts for seven consecutive weeks. The single features a female vocalist who was credited only as "Mrs. Loud." Mrs. Loud was later identified as Lorraine Crosby, a performer from North East England.

It was Meatloaf and I think the title is that same first line.

The video was very bad. Something about Meatloaf being some kind of monster. Or maybe it was his documentary, not sure
