My family dogs get cremated and we put them on our fireplace mantle.

You are very lucky to have such elderly cats. When our cats passed away(16 and 15 yrs old), we built a casket out of plywood and put some toys in it. We said a few words from the Bible and buried the casket in our garden. If you are unable to do that due to space, most vets cremate the remains and I'm sure they would give you the ashes to keep in a nice container. Hope this helps.

Well you could do many things cremate where you can carry the ashes where ever you go you could bury them and have a memorial around it or you can get them stuffed as my friend did an has her sitting there in the cats fav spot in the house curled up which looks really cute but yet freaky at the same time

There are places around the nation where they can be buried, or you can bury them at you home. There are also places that will cremate pets for you. It depends on your feelings and beliefs, and what you want to do. You are wise to think of this beforehand if you've never been through it before. It's better to have a plan so you aren't trying to make a decision when you are already emotional.

What would make you feel better ?Try not to think about it to hard.Enjoy the time that you have .When the time comes ,the answers seem to come to you .What suits you and what makes you feel better,You have already did the best thing for your cats ,you gave them a loving home.I lost my two dogs this summer ,one to cancer she was 12 years old ,my other dog pass away 6 weeks later,I went to the local shelter ,ask for a dog that didn't have a chance to find a home .I felt that I honour my dogs that way ,it worked for me and now my new dog .What ever it takes to make you feel better and works for you .

Ok well heres what we did with our cat;
1.)We took her to the vet and had her put to sleep
2.) We made sure we had something to wrap her in *like a soft towel*
3.) Then we took her home and my brother-in-law dug a whole in the back yard
4.) We put her in a box and made sure that she wouldn't move around in it like put the towel around her and such
5.) Then we said a few nice things about her and we buried her.

All in all its what you feel is something they would have liked, or something you feel is right. Just go with the flow.

Sorry for your loss,
Jessica

We got our cat cremated and have her in a wooden box with a plack on the mantle. It is a great way to look up there and remeber her. i would really suggest it.

i would wrap them up in a blanket, and put them in a box with some of it's favorite things, dig a hole in my back yard, and bury them there. then i would make some sort of memorial like maybe plant a tree or cat nip and flowers.

it all depends on how you feel, I have had a pet pass away and i wrapped her in a blanket and then put her in a box and then had my own "funeral" for her. so it is at your discretion. That is how I did aftercare of my pet.

even though i really dont like to think of this it is inevitable...i would bury them with a nice warm blanket or towel in a box in the back yard with a nice stone with their name on it...and pray of course
