How do I fix this?

Weird! About the only thing I can think of is that your CDs have fingerprints around the edges. (CDs play from the center on out) look at the CDs and see if they could benefit from some cleaning (cleaners are available on-line and at most large elecrtonics stores.)

The other thing may be the laser. The laser moves on a "track," which may be dirty as it moves farther from the "park" position.
Getting an in-dash player fixed may not be worth it. You may just be in the market for a new one

sounds like either your CD player is overheating or your speakers are. Maybe a bigger amplifier if you have a small one pushing large speakers?

Sounds as if the laser has a tracking problem. Have it serviced.
