first it's eczema, and it's not bad all the time.. i have it and it only comes when my skin is very dry and scratched.. and it shouldn't be an issue for anyone, their not living with it and some people might know this, but stress isn't the best thing for it, it's so embarrassing that it stresses people out and it could ruin their life.. it's a fact not a statement! i have read so many articles and it's sad that people are so cruel about something that the person can not help.. so why don't you be a bigger person and let people know it's not that bad or gross... and tell him to forget that girl that broke up with him, he can do way better.. someone will except him with open arm's eczema or not.. i have a wonderful b/f and it doesn't bother him at all, he still loves holding me and touching me.. so tell him good luck and dont' stress it will go away fast when he kinda lets it go and just excepts it, and tell him to try eucerin lotion that comes in a jar like contanier and baby eeveno lotion they should both say for eczema, that and cortizone 10 on the spots after showers for 5 days.. good luck and best wishes!

i for one have eczema and there are things to treat it. if he is comfortable with it and you like him then i dont see the problem. All eczema is is dry spots its not like an STD. He didnt "catch" it from anyone and if he wants to treat it then tell him to go to a dermatologist (skin doctor). That is what I did. And you should'nt care if everyone knows that he has itchy skin. Don't you think that's a little silly? That would be along the lines of being scared that people will find out about your crush's runny nose and cough. Its normal don't stress over it.

He has Eczema, not eggsama -- although that's how it's pronounced. Eczema is extremely common. I have it, as do my wife and son. Up to one fifth of all children of school age have eczema, along with about one in twelve of the adult population. The severity of the disease can vary. In mild forms the skin is dry, hot and itchy, whilst in more severe forms the skin can become broken, raw and bleeding. If anybody were to tease him, mention that they probably have it to, or will at some point. It's like getting chapped lips. Noxema was originally made for Eczema, because it "Knocks Eczema", or makes it go away.

Don't let the fact he has eczema influence your decision. Besides there are heaps of new treatments coming out for it now that have been very beneficial for some sufferers. I'm sure he would love to have a supportive friend who admires him and can see past his condition.
However, if he's not over your best friend, that sounds more serious. Maybe for now just be his friend - it sounds as if he needs it.

I would not change the way I feel about him. He can't control his eczema and trust me, he's not the only person who has it. I would imagine that a good amount of your school has some sort of eczema too - other people just don't know about it.
As far as him not being over the fact that your best friend broke up wih him.... I would think that the general rule of "you shouldn't date your friends' ex's" would still apply.
You can still like him though - eczema or not. He isn't perfect...no one is.

I get exama sometimes, well, I used too, not really anymore. Plus, its nothing more than a rash! Anyone who thinks that is really uncool, (not that it is cool) is really immature, they probably have a wig! Who knows!
