I love all dogs. You should decide first if you want a mutt or purebred. There are plenty of mixbreeds at your animal shelter. Try to pick a bred that most fits your lifestyle. A great dane wouldn't work in a studio apartment and you wouldn't want a tea cup poodle on the farm. Get to know the bred first and the get to know the animal. Just because a dog is cute won't mean it is an appropriate one for you

One that has never known love or security before and needs it the most.... in other words my favorite kind of dog is one someone else has thrown away, because I always see the love in them that others have missed.
You should get a dog that has lost his home or never known a home at all... the best dogs are those you adopt.

You should never get a dog based solely on how cute they are, or what you like. You need to be very informed about the breed of dog you're interested in. If you have children, you need to understand what breeds are tolerant of kids (such as the Lab, Collies, and Shepherds), and which ones don't like children so well (such as the Dalmation, Chow, and toy breeds). Also, don't rule out certain breeds due to other people saying they are aggressive. Pitbulls are born to love, but trained to fight. I'm sure if someone could train Chihuahuas to fight, they'd do it to them also. I have a 3 year old Pit/Akita mix that is a large, aggressive male - but he works for me, as I wanted a dog to protect my home and myself, and I have no kids to worry about him being violent towards.

my favorite is all kinds i love em all!! i have no preference!!! but i have a boxer and a mini pincher!!!! you should get one that is for ur likes...ei...if u live in an apartment might wanna get a smaller dog that doesnt require alot of exercise ....if u have a big back yard u could get a big dog that will offer protection for ur house...and if u have kids one that is great w kids...although most dogs are as long as they are trained properly and arnt mistreated by kids then they are afraid and become aggressive....sooo good luck and give ur dog lots of love and it will do the same back!!!

A lab or a mongrel, they so loving n faithful dogs.
Go 2 a rescue centre and get a dog from there.
Everyone wants a puppy then don't want them after they not a cute little puppy no more so get chucked out on street 2 fend for them self and its so cruel.
Go on give rescue dog a good home, your feel so much better for it and he will love you so much in return.

Well i love my little rat terrier she is full of energy and is a constant blast. If you are looking for a dog full of energy go with a rat terrier or a jack russell they look similar but the rat terriers are smaller. But please do make sure you go to your local animal shelter and adopt a dog so many animals need homes and they really do make the best pets because they know what it was like to live in a bad situation and they are forever grateful for you adopting them. I am just thankful our little terrier didn't hold a grudge cause the previous owners beat her and set her on fire. But she is just as happy as could be now. So please consider going to your local animal shelter.

MY favorite is an Australian Shepherd (currently own 2). As for what YOU should get..check out AKC.org and do some research. Get a dog that fits your lifestyle.

Weimaraners! They are sooooo smart, and sooooo adorable!! (But, if dogs had skill levels like craft projects, the Weim would certainly be the most difficult around. Definitely an 'advanced' dog owner dog.)
