i asked a few questions before about where to buy goods from HK, now what i'm interested in is how on earth i'll get them back to the UK.

I've checked a few links that were given and seen a lot of stuff that i think i can make a good profit on, however, i have a feeling i'll be slapped with a huge tax bill when each item comes into the country which defeats the purpose of buying them at 'wholesale tax free' prices to make a profit.

any idea on how this will actually work? i'm taking a stab in the dark with all of this.

ok - sorry to be all over your questions this morning.. but I not only worked w/charities here in Thai but I was an importer to the USA. during my previous life as biz man.. and I did import from HK amongst other places - - you might check w/a customs broker abt duties etc.. but your biggest problem will be competition and the wildly expensive cost of doing business in the West.. rents etc in Britain and cost of labor and all must be other worldly... shipping from HK is easy as hell - any manufacturer will help you with this, but your problems will be in the cost of selling the goods once you get them back - - I always figured that shipping and duty and all added 40% to the cost, but then I bet UK is more... Selling in any kind of volume is a challenge and you are competing agst others who are buying in far greater volume and getting bigger discounts.. sorry to be a little discouraging, but it is a FT challenge and you are certainly not the first to notice the price differential.. - - - ok, enuf from me today.. off to town and abt my biz.. good luck
