I recently was given a speeding ticket in Ventura County CA. I am from Vegas and have Nevada plates and drivers license. My first name is just one letter and I have a normal middle name. The officer put my mddle name as my first and my first as my middle. I have not had a ticket in 15 years and I will be in Cali agian when my court date hits. I was just going to pay the fine and have the points go on my record because my company owns the vehicle and thats my only transpertation so I dont carry my own insurance. But if I can get out of the ticket I would spend the time to go to court if I had a chance that I could get out of paying the fine. What do you think?

Any errors on a ticket can be amended in court. All the officer has to do is say that he identified you with your driver's licence and that this person is standing in the courtroom right now. I'm sure your driver's licence number and date of birth are correct on the ticket. If there a multiple errors or if any of the writing is illegible then you may have a chance. The only sure fire way of getting a ticket thrown out is if there is information missing, or it is illegible, or if obvious corrections were made by the officer and they were not initialled.

They usually put other unique info on a ticket, such as drivers license number, and date of birth. I'd play it safe if I were you. If you don't pay the ticket or show up for court, they will issue a warrant for your arrest.

Go to court or don't, your choice. The fact that you first and middle names got turned around will not get the citation dismissed by the judge. If your other identifiers are on the citation, it will be clear that you were the intended recipient and the alleged violator.

I once got a ticket for going through a red light. The police officer wrote down "May 1" instead of "May 7." I went to a hearing and got the charge dropped.

Judges supply an excellent type of variety for clerical blunders on tickets. they have your license variety and different documents. both pay the fantastic or take position in courtroom. it really is only no longer thrown out.

i think you can fight it. anytime there is a discrepancy like that it will not hold up in court. the cop was a moron and was ticket happy and was not paying attention. even though i think that you will get away without paying a fine or getting points, you should slow down, especially when there are cops around.:)

Moving violations in California go against the driver not the car. Regardless of the spelling of your name, I bet he got your drivers license correct... Good luck!

You would have to prove plausible deniability which means you have no knowledge of the ticket because it's not you. Obviously that is not the case.

Pay the ticket and take your lumps.

I think you should pay the ticket and not speed so much in the future.

I would fight the ticket... They have your license plate number.. So you need to take care of the ticket some way.
