I had my belly button pierced about 4 years ago. I only kept it for 2 years...got bored of it and no one ever saw it. But anyway, to answer your question...it does hurt some. It's like a very strong, drawn out pinch. Here's a test, take your fingernails and pinch the upper skin of your belly button (the area they'd be piercing), and that gives you a vague idea of what it'd be like. In my opinion, they really aren't worth it. Plus you always run the risk of infection and that is not a fun place to get infected. Anyway, hope that helps.

Well it is kind of hard to answer that because everyone has a different tolerance to pain. But I will say it is about the same as getting your ears pierced and it is over with really quick.
