This is actually a serious question. I own 3 cats, one of them is a 5 year old ragdoll (16lb) boy with sealpoint pattern and blue eyes. I only have him since a few weeks and he finally settled in. I keep noticing that his eye movement when he's looking around seems to be different from my other cats. You can see his eyes move from left to right and back, quite a bit when he looks around - my other cats do focus on either me or something else rather quickly. His vision seems to be good, he's healthy & active. Anyone has any insight while his eye movement seems very untypical for a cat?.

It is not 'rapid', he's just panning left and right.

I would take him to the vet. Rapid eye movement can be a sign of neurolgical problems. Take him in before it gets worse. Good luck and I hope it is nothing to serious

How is his hearing? Maybe he is a little deaf? I always wonder with blue eyed cats, though I have a white cat with blue eyes who hears just fine.

Unless he can FEEL me open the treat bag from the other end of the house....

haha I just tried to imagine that, and it was pretty funny. If he seems to be healthy, and he sees good, then I would say you shouldnt worry about it. But if it still bothers you, phone your vet and ask them what can cause this type of eye movement.
