We've been dating for 4 years now and I feel like he's wasting my time. I never spoke to him about marriage but I know he doesn't think I'm going to be his girlfriend forever! I should just lose this dude right? I mean our relationship is great and all but how long is this going to go on? If I was a man I would propose within 2 years!

Honey, your clock is ticking! You can't afford to waste any more time on him if he's not going to propose. The problem is that forcing him to propose or giving him an ultimatum will likely backfire. The best advice I can give you is to try and pull back in some way. Make less time for him, call him less, go out with your friends more, meet new people. Make him worry that he's losing you. He will probably ask what's wrong, and then you can tell him that you think the relationship isn't moving forward. Either he'll propose or he'll let you go, but at least then you'll know.

Some guys take forever. However if you never say anything the fear of rejection may keep the subject from comming up. It's the "Don't rock the Boat" philosophy. Tell him how you feel that marriage is imoprtant to you and you've been thinking about it and watch his reaction. If he freaks he's too immature, especially after four year together.

i know what you are going through honestly i do,but do you everthink that he might be afraid that you dont want to marry him. You even said it yourself you never bring up the subject so maybe he doesnt think that you want to. If i wasin your position i would drop some hints like if your in the mall and you see a jewlery store go in and look around make comments that refure to marrage and if you are really inlove with this man you should just muscle up enough heart and ask him yourself.

Men don't understand subtle hints. You may have to open up the dialog here. Don't say "I want to have a ring and a date by my next birthday", but ask him how he feels about marriage and if he sees that in his near future. Tell him that you love him and want to spend the rest of your life with him. Then let it go for awhile and maybe when you least expect it...

Sounds like you're in it just for the marriage certificate, and his feelings really don't come into it.

There's an old country saying that fits this situation perfectly..."Why buy the cow, when you can get the milk for free?"

LOL....I like your style! Hey...will you marry me? Only pulling your leg of course but you've a valid point. If he looks like he's bogged down and has no intention of wanting you as his wife then stop wasting precious time. You aren't getting any younger you know.

Ask him. We're pretty boneheaded that way. If he's not picking up the signs, just ask him. If he says no after that, then you might have a reason to cut it off.

Maybe you should hint around about marriage and see how he reacts to it. He probably thinks that you dont want to get married because you haven't mentioned to him.

Sometimes you have to spell things out. First you need to talk to him first. You know, talk about what you want and ask him what he wants. After that you can ask yourself if he's wasting your time.
